Ben, Elizabeth (from our street), brothers known as the JohnnyBoberts.
Front Row (left - right):
JoeCasey (I did know on Sunday which one was which but I can't remember!), Max, Erin.
On Sunday last week, Max's parents held a Goodbye Puddleducks Nursery BBQ for Max and his friends. All of the guests except Elizabeth are leaving nursery to start school in September, and not all of them are going to to the same establishment.
Bud and Jo wanted to give the children and us parents time to say goodbye and farewell.
The party started at 3pm and we all brought round BBQ fare and puddings (lovely yummy puds). The children played in the garden, mostly inside Max's dad's runner bean plants! More and more alcohol passed the parents' lips as we gossiped about the nursery and swapped stories of what Ben said about Bobert etc. (Bobert is really Robert, but he's known affectionately as Bobert.)
There were games: Pass the Parcel, Musical Statues, Sleeping Lions and later on, a pinata was bashed to bits with bats, the kids really getting into the swing (literally) of things. Afer the the youngsters watched a Dumbo DVD in the front room, we all rolled (some rolled a little more than others!) home at 10pm. YES you read that correctly, ten o'clock in the evening! We walked home with Elizabeth and her mum and dad. Ben had a complete fit when we refused a late night playdate with Elizabeth!
I'm sure the mums and dads of the JohnnyBoberts, JoeCasey, Elizabeth and Erin will join us in thanking Jo and Bud for a fabulous BBQ party. They were the perfect hosts and it is so lovely finding that not only do our children get on so well at nursery, but that we parents do too. You are all a lovely lot. I hope we can keep in touch - blackberry and yellow plum picking and Scandals!
